HOW MANY CHARITIES ARE INVOLVED?

Not many, only six have guaranteed entries at the moment, but this is likely to grow again, having been around 20 in 2015. Others encourage runners with their own entries to run for them and raise what they can.

WHY IS IT GOOD FOR FUNDRAISING?

The organisers are committed to growing the programme and give charities plenty of options to interact with runners.

WHAT ABOUT AFTER THE RACE?

The finish area is a great space for charities to thank their runners. There are marquees where charities offer food, drink and masseurs.

HOW MUCH IS RAISED?

The target for 2024 is NZ$600k.

HOW TOUGH IS IT TO GET A CHARITY ENTRY?

It's very easy. The average fundraising pledge is NZ$1000.
