HAVE YOU GOT YOUR OWN ENTRY IN A RUNNING EVENT?

We truly appreciate your support in fundraising for us. Every pound you raise helps us do more for people living with scoliosis and funds vital research into the condition. There are countless ways you can help—whether it’s a fun run, a walk, a trek, or a bake sale at work. Here, we’ll show you how to focus your fundraising around events and introduce you to some of the programmes we offer. We’re genuinely grateful for any support you can give, and in return, we’ll provide top-notch fundraising and training advice—guaranteed.

Fundraising is easier than you think, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Through our partnership with The Sapphire Running Zone, we offer assistance for both your fundraising and your training. As a thank you for creating a JustGiving page, we’ll sign you up to one of their Diamond Plans. This gives you access to premium content normally behind a paywall, including training plans, blogs, Zoom sessions, members-only podcasts, and much more. On top of that, we’ll send you one of our quality running vests or shirts for training and race day.

And of course, there are some amazing rewards as you reach your fundraising milestones:

  • Raise £100 – Earn our official Scoliosis Support & Research medal to mark your achievement.

  • Raise £250 – Receive a limited edition coffee mug—perfect for those post-run brews.

  • Raise £500 – Take home our adorable Rodney teddy—a favourite among fundraisers!

  • Raise £1,000 – Get everything above plus our super comfy fundraising hoodie.

  • Raise £1,500 – Receive the full reward bundle plus a £150 running shoes voucher for top brands

STEP 1

Decide on the type of event you'd like to do.  If it's a running event (you can walk these as well in most cases) there are lots of options from 5km, to marathons, and beyond. Enter the event on the official race website and then join our team by going to the 'Join Us'' section below and letting us know. That way we can then support you with training plans and fundraising ideas. If you raise £250 we will then refund your entry fee as soon as you've done your run!  

 

The next step is to set up a fundraising page on the JustGiving website. We'll show you how to do that and how to share it with your friends and family.  We have lots of fundraising ideas that we'll give you including the destination based ideas below.  (We use these for our 30 Day Challenge runners and they work really well.) There are videos, playlists and themed fundraising ideas! STEP 3

We'd love you to raise whatever you can. There are no fixed targets if you have your own entry in an event, but if you do raise a certain amount we've got some great rewards!

  • Raise £250 and get your entry fee refunded up to the value of £40

  • ​Raise £500 and we'll also send you one of our gorgeous hoodies and a Rodney teddy

  • ​Raise £1500 and we'll also send you a  voucher for a £150 pair of running shoes from our online retail partner!

DESTINATION THEMED FUNDRAISING IDEAS

Why not host a fundraising dinner party using food and drink from a destination around the world or a bake sale using local products? We've got lots of great ideas to make your fundraising fun and easy!

Whatever event you have an entry in we'd love you to fundraise for us. There are no fixed targets if you have your own entry in an event, but as a thank you we'll gladly refund you the cost of your race entry (up to £40) if you raise £250 and if you get to £1500 you'll get a pair of running shoes!
